New Mexico Administrative Licensure Requirements

Candidates seeking PreK–12 Educational Administration licensure in New Mexico must hold a current Level 2 or Level 3A teacher license or a Level 2 or Level 3 instructional support provider license. Candidates must successfully complete the requirements of the Western New Mexico University Master of Arts in Educational Leadership or the Educational Leadership Graduate Certificate, as applicable, including all required coursework, clinical experiences, and common performance tasks. Candidates must also earn a passing score on the Praxis Educational Leadership: Administration and Supervision examination. Licensure is granted by the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED), and candidates are responsible for meeting all current state licensure requirements.
